Many developments are planned prior to land being purchased and often require an initial study in order to assess their viability. With over 30 years of experience, Met Consulting Engineers are able to quickly identify those areas most likely to affect the development of the land, such as:

  • Traffic and transportation studies
  • Highway access/egress arrangements
  • Foul and surface water drainage availability
  • Off site works required under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act and/or Section 278 of the Highways Act
  • Ground conditions, especially where mining/landfill is a problem
  • Confirmation of the area and boundaries of the land to be purchased
  • Preparation of infrastructure plans indicating how the land may be developed.
Met is able to carry out land feasibility studies via desk-top studies or intrusive site investigation as required. All information gathered from the assessments is compiled into a comprehensive report, identifying any indicative abnormal costs. Land feasibility studies are seen to be vital by many developers; the ability to assess the viability of the site at an early stage enables them to determine whether to proceed with the project or how to structure their bid for the land.
