Environmental legislation requires a risk based approach to the assessment of contaminated sites. Met Consulting Engineers carry out all necessary site works to determine the extent of contamination, using subcontractors where appropriate.

Investigations can range from a desk study, based upon published information through to a full intrusive site investigation. Investigation techniques include:

  • Trial Pits
  • Boreholes
  • Soil Testing
  • Contamination Testing
  • Risk-Based CLEA Modelling
  • Remediation Statements
  • Validation Statements

Where appropriate geophysical techniques can be used as a prelim to a full intrusive investigation or as a means to search for ground anomalies such as shallow mine workings, drainage runs and sewers etc.

Met Consulting Engineers call upon the extensive in house expertise of parent company Met Surveys for all geophysical investigations, working in partnership to establish the most efficient and cost effective method of site investigation.

Based on the findings of the site investigation and environmental appraisal, Met Consulting Engineers are able to provide Remediation Statements and Validation Reports, to meet legislative planning requests.
